The Klon circuit has a sound guitarists have been chasing for 30 years. That transparent push, the way it sits behind the amp without taking it over, the midrange that makes a clean channel suddenly breathe.

What made the original Klon sound the way it did is partly design, partly component behavior, partly time. The clipping characteristics that defined its character were never perfectly stable, they drifted between units, between production runs, between years. Even the KTR, Bill Finnegan’s own sequel, landed differently in the hands of players who had grown up with the original. Not a flaw in the design, but a property of the materials and time passing. Cornerstone didn’t try to freeze that moment. The Clip knob moves through it, from the looser, more compressed feel associated with older germanium behavior, toward something tighter and more defined. A range, not a fixed point

The Centurio builds on this with two fully independent channels, switchable mid-song. Each has its own Gain and Volume. Set them once and they’re there when you need them. Most players who love the Klon end up running two of them. The Centurio is the answer to that: one unit, one familiar feel, two voices.
